About Us

We have had many lovely holidays in France and other parts of the world, but after a spending a glorious 10 days  in the Charente Maritime in 2016, we decided to pack in the day jobs (working with young offenders and project management in construction) and relocate from our busy lives in London to the French countryside. We fell in love with the area around Saint Jean D'Angely and decided that would be the centre of our house search.

After viewing La Petite Ferme Gites & walking around the delightful village of Dampierre sur Boutonne, our minds were set. We have been here since February 2018 and both of us love the beautiful countryside, the tranquillity, the sunshine, the birds singing in the evening, the cheese and wine and everything about life in rural France. We have immersed ourselves in village life & have made great friends with both French and English locals.

I am a keen runner and enjoy exploring the local running trails. Stuart enjoys motorcycling around the quiet roads of the region.  We both regularly cycle on the local off road trails and roads, and love taking our bikes further afield, to the coast or Ile de Re on a cycling day trip. We are also both members of Aulnay Walking Football Club   We would be really happy to share our local knowledge with our guests, should they want it and will do all we can to make your stay with us as enjoyable as possible. 

We really want our guests to relax, have a wonderful stress free holiday and enjoy their stay at La Petite Ferme Gites ........and we hope they fall in love with the Charente Maritime, just as we did.
