Booking Terms & Conditions

La Petite Ferme Gites - Terms and Conditions

Payment

Bookings can be made online, via e mail or over the phone. We accept payment by credit or debit card via Paypal, or via a Bank Transfer. We accept Pounds or Euros. We require a non-refundable deposit on booking of 30% of the total cost of your gîte rental. Your booking is not secure or confirmed until this deposit payment has been received. The balance is due 4 weeks before your arrival. We will send a reminder e mail when this payment is due.

If you are booking less than four weeks before departure, the full price is required at the time of booking.  Under no circumstances can the prescribed number of persons per gite be exceeded. If the full amount is not received by the due date we reserve the right to cancel the booking.

Cancellation Policy

Please note that your deposit is non-refundable.  If you have to cancel your holiday before your final balance has been paid (ie before 4 weeks prior to your arrival date) payment in full will not be required.  If you have paid all outstanding amounts - ie your cancellation is within 4 weeks of your arrival date -  we are not obliged to make you a refund.  We STRONGLY recommend you take out travel insurance to protect you in the unlikely event you have to cancel your holiday.  In the unusual event that we have to cancel your holiday we will offer you a full refund.  Please note that this is the limit of our liability in these circumstances.

We do not accept any liability for damage to your property or injury to you or other members of your party whilst on our premises.

Prices

Prices are per stay per gite and are inclusive of electricity, gas, water and the provision of bed linen and towels but do not include towels for use outside the gite or around the pool.  Please bring your own pool towels otherwise a charge will be made.

Tourist Tax

French Law requires us to collect tourist tax (Tax de Sejour) for each guest over the age of 18. Some of the on-line booking agents eg AirBnB collect this tax directly. For those guests booking directly, or through a booking agent that does not collect the tax, we are required to collect it, in cash, from the guest & to pay it monthly to the relevant agency.

Tax de Sejour for The Farmhouse is 1.20E per person (over 18 years) per night.

Tax de Sejour for The Barn and Fig Tree Cottage is 0.90E per person (over 18 years) per night.

Arrival & Departure Times

Arrival time is between 4pm and 10pm. It is helpful if you are able to give us an approximate time that you expect to arrive and to let us know if this time changes. Departure time is by 10 am on the day of departure in order to give enough time between clients to ensure that the property is ready.

Cleaning

Your property will be cleaned before your arrival and we respectfully ask you to remember that you are staying in someone else's home and to leave it clean and tidy when you depart. We do not charge a cleaning fee, but we expect the gite to be left in the condition that you found it at the start of your rental. This includes cleaning all the rooms, the BBQ and outside area, fridge, oven  and microwave, emptying the bins etc.  Cleaning materials are located under the sink in your gite and you will find brooms, mops, hoover etc in the Laundry Room.

Smoking Policy

We are happy to accommodate smoking in your outside area but ask you to use the ashtrays provided. Smoking is not permitted inside the gîtes or the games barn, or within the boundary of the swimming pool.

Swimming Pool – Open May to September

The law in France requires all outdoor swimming pools to be protected with childproof fencing and security gate. The pool has additional security in the form of a pool alarm. Please note that the pool is used at your own risk and we cannot be held liable for any accidents caused as a result of the gate being left or propped open. On arrival please read the ‘Safe Pool Use’ leaflet included in your ‘Gîte Information Pack’.

Pool towels not supplied - please bring your own towels. No swimming between 20.00 hours and 09.00 hours.  No diving as the pool is only 1.5m deep.  No drinking glasses or bottles to be used around the pool (plastic only please) or food (crisps etc).  Children to be under parent's supervision at all times as the owners cannot be responsible for their safety as there is no lifeguard on duty.

Damages & Breakages

We understand that accidents happen and therefore we do not take a breakages deposit BUT we do require you to let us know within 24 hours if you break or damage anything, so that we can fix or replace as soon as possible. If we believe any damage or breakage has been deliberately or recklessly caused, we reserve the right to make a charge.
